All of my art starts out as a graphite drawing. Good Ole #2 pencil will always be my first love when it
comes to mediums. After the initial sketch is done it may just stop there and serve as the inspirational basis for full color painting in another medium. In some cases I complete the drawing so it can stand on it's on as a finished work of art - usually it is then offered as a print and is enhanced digitally with a complimentary background. Other times the grayscale graphite serves as a "grisaille" under painting for another work painted either in Egg Tempera or Acrylic or digitally in Light.
